Multilingual Knowledge Repository

The Multilingual Knowledge Repository is implemented in the DebVisDic environment, developed by Masaryk University. The next image shows an overview of the architecure of the database, as it includes generic wordnets and some ontologies. It is possible to import and export WordNets by using Kyoto LMF data format. You can click on the wordnet repositories to get access to the database. You will get a certificate warning. Accept the certificate and login with user "kyoto" and the same as password:

The database has two different ways for interlinking between the different resources through so-called gears. All the wordnets are linked to various versions of the English Wordnet. http://deb.fi.muni.cz/index.phpIn the case of KYOTO, all wordnets will have mappings to Wordnet3.0 but other wordnets could be uploaded that map to other version of the English Wordnet: 1.5, 1.6, 1.7 or 2.0. These English versions are connected through each other through a gear wheel of wordnet versions. The gear wheel makes it possible to go from any wordnet to any other wordnet, for example:

  • my wordnet -> WN1.7 -> WN3.0 -> Japanese wordnet
  • Italian wordnet -> WN3.0 -> WN1.7 -> my wordnet

Existing ontologies are also often linked to a version of English Wordnet, so it is also possible to go from any wordnet to any ontology or the other way around, or from one ontology to the other, for example:

  • my wordnet -> WN1.7 -> WN3.0 -> SUMO
  • Dolce -> WN1.7 -> WN2.0 -> my wordnet
  • Dolce -> WN1.7 -> WN3.0 -> SUMO

In the case of KYOTO, the wordnets are also directly connected to ontologies. Likewise, the ontologies themselves also represent a gear wheel to interconnect wordnets, for example:

  • Chinese wordnet -> SUMO -> Dutch wordnet
  • Dutch wordnet -> Kyoto -> Italian wordnet -> Simple

There is currently a basic client through which you can query the database. Follow one of the links below to access a database. You will get a certificate warning. Accept the certificate and login with user "kyoto" and the same as password. We have the following wordnets in the server:

  1. English Wordnet 2.0
  2. English Wordnet 3.0
  3. English Wordnet 3.0 Environment
  4. Japanese Wordnet
  5. Chinese Wordnet
  6. Italian Wordnet
  7. Dutch Wordnet 2.0
  8. Spanish Wordnet 1.6
  9. Basque Wordnet 1.6

We currently have the following ontologies in the server:

  1. Sumo
  2. Onto Wordnet

In the future, the database will also include the domain wordnets and a domain ontology that are built through the Term editor.
